MELVIN JORDAN is an esteemed musical talent who has wooed audiences worldwide!  A native of Detroit, Michigan, Melvin has over 30 years of performing experience and gold and platinum records.  Melvin specializes in rhythm, lead guitar, vocals, songwriting, and production.  Melvin’s 30-year resume includes seven and a half years touring with the “Original Temptations” and three years on the theatre circuit with well-known gospel artists such as Vickie Winans and Clifton Davis.  In addition, he has performed with Martha Reeves, Freda Payne, the “Marvelettes,” and the “Four Tops.”  Melvin’s theater credits include Chorus Line, Clyde Ń Bonnie, Bridges Over Madison County, Summer, Mary Poppins, Dream Girls, Memphis, On Your Feet, Newsies, Mamma Mia, In the Heights, and Beautiful. Melvin attained a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education from Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts.  He currently provides private string lessons and performs with various bands around the Atlanta area at multiple venues, including weddings, private parties, theaters, nightclubs, and coffee houses.

During my years of teaching in Gwinnett County Public School system, I started a Modern Band program. It consisted of students from 2nd to 5th grade. Students had the opportunity to play drums, guitar, bass, piano, percussion and Orff instruments. Rehearsals were held 3 times a week at 7am. Students also performed several times a year at various venues to include: School, shopping mall, middle school, Aurora Theater and Assisted Living Homes to name a few.
